Why Sacred Wellness Exists

I have always filtered my decisions through compassion and a deep commitment to service. That instinct is what first led me into nursing and continues to shape ho I live, work, and care for others.

I began my nursing career after earning my Bachelor’s in Nursing, commissioning as a United States Army officer, and serving in multiple fields of nursing. Not the least of which was high risk labor and delivery. My years in the military challenged me, refined me, and taught me how to lead with steadiness in high-pressure, emotionally complex environments. I reached the rank of Captain and had planned to continue in that path, until motherhood shifted my priorities in a way that required both courage and surrender.

Leaving the Army was not an easy decision, but it was a faithful one. I continued practicing nursing in the civilian sector across multiple specialties, carrying with me the discipline, resilience, and sense of responsibility that military service instilled. Over time, I became increasingly aware of the emotional, spiritual, and mental weight that caregiving places on individuals and families — often without adequate support or space to process it.

Sacred Wellness grew from that awareness — it is for those who carry responsibilities and feel the weight of showing up day after day: nurses, caregivers, helpers, first responders, military personnel, parents & family members, etc.

This space exists to nurture the whole person: body, mind, family, and spirit. Rooted in faith and lived experience, my work is centered on reflection, emotional resilience, and sustainable care across the rhythms of everyday life. Whether through nursing, wellness, reading, food, or quiet practices of restoration, my hope is to offer tools that feel grounded and thoughtful.

Here, you’ll find written reflections, practical tools, gentle resources, with maybe some recipes and comedic relief thrown in. Everything is designed to support you across the rhythms of everyday life.

I believe care should never require self-erasure. I believe rest is not a reward, but a necessity. And I believe faith gets us through every season. Most importantly, I believe Jesus is the Son of God, came to earth and lived a sinless life; dying on the cross for our sins, rose from the dead 3 days later and is seated at the right hand of God. And he will return.

Sacred Wellness is an invitation to pause, tend to what matters, and remember that you are not meant to carry everything alone.
